I’d be happy if Philly would just provide some kind of food for people waiting (they used to have ONE - pretty expensive, table service restaurant). My daughter and I had to spend a couple of hours there one day, and I was tempted to ask someone up in the checked in concourse to throw us down something to eat.

There is a cell phone lot in Honolulu, but the signage is terrible & getting back to the airport I accidentally got on the freeway and added more time & mileage to the pick up. I wish they all had better signage. I’m happy without any amenities for the cell lot, am glad they have them, but GOOD signage is important to avoid wasted gas & time. I’m sure there are other directionally challenged folks.

One of my pet peeves is the limited hours of food places at most airports. Seems to me that with a captive audience each place could take turns staying open late.

Nashville has a cell phone waiting area. I noticed it last weekend when picking up DD from airport. I didn’t use it so don’t know what, if any, amenities there are. I do think it’s a great idea.

Denver DIA has a “45 minute” (cellphone) lot. But it can get crowded, with dicey parking / turn around. It does have portable outhouses… not fancy, but much appreciated.

VH - A cellphone lot is a free parking area either directly on the airport grounds or very close where you can wait for arriving passengers. You stay in your car until the arriving passengers call you to say they’ve arrived. Then you drive to the airport door they’ve exited from and just stop long enough to load them into your car.

JFK definitely has a cell phone lot. I spent two hours in it waiting for my son once. It’s nothing fancy, just a big parking lot and not very well lit. Of course, after the long wait I had a hard time getting to where I needed to be. The signage leaves a lot to be desired.

I think a Starbucks or something like that at the cellphone lot would pay for itself (and a lot more) in no time. The only issue is that it’s not really set up for people to be wandering around out of their cars. I have, out of necessity, walked my dog there, but it wasn’t fun.

A dunkin donuts with a drive through…and a small indoor area with bathrooms would be terrific. I don’t need to plan a shopping expedition when I’m going to the airport to pick someone up. That dunkin would be a gold mine for the owner!

O’Hare has one - thank goodness! That is one crazy airport. The only extra it has is an arrivals board. There is also a cell lot at Milwaukee - no extras.

The Portland International Jetport (how I love that name) has had one for a few years. It’s just a parking lot, no amenities at all.

(For several years, there were NO international flights out of PWM, so the name was not even accurate. Now I think we have one or two flights to Canada, whoo hoo!).

As noted above, the O’Hare cell lot is not bad. Its right next to the remote parking lots and near the rental car facilities. About four years ago when my wife was commuting back and forth to Detroit, the only amenity was a couple of port-a-pottys - no arrivals board, you had to use the airline info line.

There is also a 24 hour McD’s about two blocks away if there is going to be a long delay. Even with this nice lot, it amazes me that so many people still want park on the side of the interstate access road to the airport and risk a ticket rather than drive two minutes to the cell lot.
