As you can probably tell by this post, I am a person who likes privacy and personal space. Should I just request a single then? I would prefer to live in one of the new dooms but they only have 2 room doubles.

<p>Yes, then I think that you should request a single. Keep in mind that even though the new dorms will have space for freshmen, 35-40% of the freshman class is still going to end up in the choastes/river cluster dorms (hinman is the only river dorm that is closing). While you may have a preference for a room in the new cluster, there are not going to be enough rooms to accomodate all who will want to live there.</p>

<p>Thanks for the response. I think that I probably wouldn’t mind a 2 room double that much because it is effectively a single with a (possible) friend nearby. The downside with the 2 room doubles is that you do have a good deal less privacy because of both closets being in one room, one door, etc.</p>

<p>Iconoclast - I think most kids bunk the beds in one room, and use the other as a living space, depends on the layout of plugs etc. Not sure how you feel about sleeping in a bunk bed for a year, but you have more space than my D did in a one room double in the Choates, if not more privacy.</p>
