@toxicology For an appeal, you usually need a VERY solid reason why they should reconsider – extremely tough financial conditions, medical conditions, etc. But regardless, if I were you and really wanted to go to Cal, I would appeal. 1% chance is better than 0.

Major: Spanish
GPA: 4.0

IGETC: completed by the end of Spring
TAP: YES! Lol
EC’s: Just 5+ years of work experience and 2+ years of volunteer work with the disabled students program at my current college.

I would be devastated if I hadn’t already chosen UCLA. For all future TAP 4.0 students: nothing is written in stone. Take the stats the TAP rep. gives you with a grain of salt.

Major: Chemical Biology
GPA: ~3.7-3.8
pre-reqs: all but 1/~12 which was not articulated at my school
IGETC: N
Other schools applied: UCI, UCSD, UCLA

PS: they were okay, not the best, but still pretty good
EC: none, just working ~25 hrs/week and tutoring ~2 hrs/week

TBH im not surprised i got rejected from UCB cause my GPA and my lack of ECs. I am surprised i got in to UCLA cause they seem to be more about the numbers but am totally stoked about going to UCLA as a biochem major. Although its my dream school, mainly cause the area and prestige, UCLA is still high up there and maybe i can go to med/grad school up north. although i wont be in the bay area just yet, ill get there eventually :)

@HelloPersonC Thanks for the support dude haha I know I was a bit surprised but I think maybe it’s because my CC didn’t offer very many pre-reqs and completing all of the pre-reqs by the end of my first semester would have been near impossible…

I thought you would get in for sure too though! You had good stats and certainly completed more pre-reqs than I!
Berks is pretty unpredictable though so we will just have to move on…
Where are you planning on attending now?

Accepted! Had no idea they would be releasing this early. Glad I checked here first or else would have suffered waiting until 5pm lol
