The Official UCB Fall of 2014 Decisions Thread

@Cayton‌

Ok cool.

Ha yeahh I did. Just like you said I would. Beyond excited.

So, by the looks of it, if you want to get accepted without having a 3.85+, don’t try for the sciences. And if you’re EE/CS, even with a 4.0 theres a 50/50 chance of rejection

ah…sigh

@music1990‌

I told you I’d call up my connections at Berkeley and have them admit you! ;)

Nah, but seriously, I’m happy for you, man. I mean, it’s BERKELEY! :smiley: Now is the time to feel ecstatic! I wish you the best of luck with the next chapter of your life.

But on a side note, do I or do I not have the power to predict the future? :D

Accepted:
Intended major - Pre-Econ/Applied Math
Major Pre-reqs- Done
GPA- 3.8x

5/5, going to have a hard time deciding.

@FCrane‌

I’m sorry :frowning: You sound like a great student/business person.

700,000,000 site views?!?! That’s incredible. Do you make a lot of money off that? May I ask what the site it?

@Cayton This just made choosing get real, its UCLA 95% sure still. Lol

@music1990‌

I’m seriously confused. I feel like I should appeal but Idk what more I can offer these people…

I’d rather not say for security reasons but yeah, more than that many views, actually. it’s not really for profit as of now

Is there a transfer group on facebook? If not, we should make one so that we can find roommates and such.

Accepted!

@Cayton‌

Thanks man! I’m really happy. Congratulations to you also, even though you will almost certainly be attending UCLA. They will be lucky to have you.

Yes, you are good at predicting the future. I haven’t see you be wrong yet.

I think it will be cool now to stick around this site and help the next wave of applicants. They should make you a mod lol.

@Cayton‌

Honestly, I did not want to leave SoCal. All 3 school’s I applied to were in SoCal, Irvine,UCSD,UCLA. I knew I would get into UCLA, whoever I spoke to, told me i would after they reviewed my info. If for some reason, UCLA rejected me, I would go to either UCI or UCSD, and at least be home for the weekends(I am close to my family and friends).

I was even told, UCB would likely accept you as well, but as prestigious as UCB is, wasn’t worth it for my undergrad.If I lived near UCB, then no question I would go! Only way I would’ve left SoCAL for my undergrad was for an IVY or studying at Oxford or Cambridge, but those would be dreams, not reality. Not even Stanford would’ve dragged me out of here. For a slight moment, I thought about applying to NYU, but passed up on it.

@FCrane‌

Maybe you could take the class you’re missing in the summer and appeal telling them that?

Yeah I understand. That’s really impressive though.

@music1990‌

Aw, thanks, man. I don’t know if I want to be a mod, though. I don’t want to deal with people’s problems, like that guy who made the “UCLGAY” joke, lol.

Just go to Berkeley and use that fancy music degree you’ll get from there to save the music industry or something, idk. :P

In the meantime, you and I can help next year’s anxious transfer applicants out and calm their nerves.

@Tik1127‌

I get you. I don’t want to leave SoCal myself, so UCLA was my #1 school. I’m glad you got in, too.

@music1990 I mean, if they were to say yes to that, they would’ve offered me Spring already

Idk, I might call and see what happened but really, after all this effort, I feel like I could tell them I’m the CEO of Apple and they’d still say no

and now my friends who have like 3.7 GPAs are posting their acceptances on Instagram. None of this makes sense

Accepted!
History!!!

Omgomg
