@stabbystabby, =)) what compelled you to make that username?!

Did anyone get an email about the bridge transfer weekend? I didn’t get one but my friend did. And if so, are you planning on attending the event? (May 3rd-5th)

@lkm291 The student that called me to congratulate me and answer my questions this weekend mentioned it to me. She said it is by invite only as it is meant for a specific group of students.

@lkm291
I did. I was up at 2am when i received it. Filled out the form right away! Looking at the past thread about bridge transfer weekend, it sounds like a lot of fun. Good thing i don’t have any test that monday.

@SoCalLife310 really. Only for specific students. … the student who called me only mentioned the may 10th event
@Loyshi good for you!

Does anyone know what is the maximum amount of units you can take to be eligible for transfer?

@Catullus There is no max. You can transfer only 70 units, and need to have a minimum of 60.

@Moshe1010 Actually, there is. I didn’t think to google it before I asked. woops. I was in email correspondence with my admissions rep and he told me not to add on any more classes since I was at the “maximum units for eligibility to transfer.” It’s 90 semester units or 135 quarter units. Turns out I’m in a tough spot and might get my admission revoked.

For anyone who’s curious, it’s in this article:
<a href=“University of California Counselors”>University of California Counselors;

has anybody received confirmation that they got a spot in the bridges program?

So, for people that have already been accepted to other UCs, do you get an acceptance letter in the mail along with your electronic acceptance, or do you have to submit your SIR first? Or have they done away with the paper packets altogether?

@CalBruin
I replied right when i got the email and i still haven’t gotten anything either… So much for within 36 hours. I hope they let use know soon. Still nothing yet for you?

Can anyone give me some clarification on housing assigment priority at UCLA? I emailed UCLA housing and they said it doesn’t matter when you submit the housing app (no priority if you send it inlater) as long as it’s before June 1st.

So how did some people get the idea that the date you submit the UCLA housing app matters?

my friend who goes to UCLA says IT DOES MATTER, but now I’m just confused. Help? THANKS

@CalBruin I haven’t gotten anything back, but someone called me yesterday inviting me to go. Not sure if I can make it, but they said to RSVP just in case.

@randombookie
This is UCB… awkward. lol

@toucheamore

They send you acceptance letters regardless of whether you SIR or not.

Also, Berkeley called me today to congratulate me, give me some info about the school, and answer any questions; it was pretty cool. What I found hilarious, though, was when the student on the phone asked me if I was considering any other UC schools and I said, “Weeeeeell, to be honest, I’ve already filed my SIR with UCLA.”

She said, “darn it.” lol

They have a quota to hit! Cayton dont be so cruel xp!

Will Berkeley rescind me?
On the Conditions of Admission, it states that I need to complete DANCE38A, ICS5, POLI1.
But actually, I am now taking ICS7, & POLI1.
They are all elective classes and I have already completed my IGETC and Major Requirements in Winter Quarter, and I will have 97 UC transferable quarter units by the end of Spring. I sent an email but no response yet.

feel so nervous now… Thank you!

PS: I have already submitted my SIR for Cal and told the admission officer about this in the email 8-|

@Challenging No, they won’t rescind you. They’ll probably just revise your conditions of admissions. I was in a similar situation as you in which I didn’t need this one class because frankly it was really boring. I didn’t tell them that though. I told them I already completed my IGETC, major prep, and already fulfilled 60 transferable units and therefore didn’t need the class.

They understood.

@Challenging Were the courses listed on your conditions of admission also on your application after updating TAU? I’m in a similar situation, but the courses they have listed aren’t on my application at all. Instead of taking Intermediate C++ (no equivalent UCB course) I took Advanced Java (UCB 61B). The other was an elective.

Hopefully we’ll be fine if they’re not prereqs, IGETC, or part of our 60 units. I sent an email to my UCB advisor and I got an automatic reply saying due to the high volume of emails it will be about 3-5 days.

@ocnative
thank you for your quick response… I can finally breath. The reason I love this forum is everyone is so helpful and responsive!
I will tell you about their reply in the coming days hopefully.

@credulitykills
Yes. They are currently listed on my Conditions of Admission, and also on my application after updating TAU
I hope so… again, as long as they are not Prereq, IGETC, or I can go over 60 units without that dropped class, it should be okay. Yes… I got the automatic reply too mentioning about the time for waiting. UCB may take less waiting time than UCLA (15 days). Thanks :)
