^ I seriously layed in bed this morning for like tenminutes telling myself, “A Chicago rejection is not the end of the world.”

every time i get my mind off the decision, i start thinking about it again.

i was accepted oos to ucla last night, but my desire to attend ucla pales in comparison to my desire to attend chicago.

^^@butternut - ditto. i woke up today, remembered uchicago decisions might possibly come out today, and practically had to start being my own therapist. “The world is not going to end in a apocalyptic fireball because I got rejected from Chicago…is it?” o_0

Good luck guys. I hope alot of you get in!!!

i got in ucla a couple days ago…but i just wanna know about uchicago. i’ve been basically glued to this site since i discovered the thread…

I’m a bit ****ed they haven’t come out yet. This wait is starting to annoy me more than excite me. I’m pretty sure they have all the decisions; just put them online, already.

I’m sure if they had all the decisions ready, they would post them. I think we are getting a little worked up, honestly. Think of how much work they have to do…I bet they wish it’s done already more than us.

^rockerguyasj:

Same thing happened for EA. All the CCers made a thread where we spent like 4 days worrying about what would happen if decisions were released that day. Looking back at it, it looks funny … but it also goes to show how Chicago applicants are unique. You can’t find that kind of discussion on other boards.

Does anyone know how much the common app essays affect their decision? The other essays I wrote for Chicago were decent, but I was just reading my common app essay and it literally made me cringe because it was so bad haha. Well i guess either way I’ll find out soon =)

I’d put my money on March 30th, to be perfectly honest.

They did that to us EAers. Make us sweat it out. Give no indication of when they’ll be released.

Then you get home from school on Monday, check to see if they uploaded decisions for reasons beyond your control and that you can’t quite understand, and then, BAM!, happiness.

or BAM! Myocardial infarction. JK :P

Regardless of what happens, you’ll end up doing nothing the rest of the day. Either from depression or happiness. (Hopefully the second . . .) But this is why you need to be productive now before the decisions come in. ;)

(The timing of the EA decisions sucked: two days before finals for me, so I predictably bombed most of them.)

Q: What are the chances we are going to get acceptances on a Sunday?
A: Zilch.

That means Monday is still a possibility. Monday is my birthday, so I better get in!!

Agreed. Actually, your productivity goes down almost to zero a few days before decisions come out, because it’s just hard to concentrate on work.

Back when EA released, I spent all night “drifting” on-line.

I apologize in advance if this question has already been asked, but does anyone know if the admissions staff of Chicago is even open on Monday/ during spring break?

^^oh, they better be…i am NOT waiting another week for decisions o_0

Even if they’re not in the office, isn’t it possible that they’ve set up the system to automatically generate an email/post the decision online at X PM on day Y?

I might be wrong, but EA decisions came out on Monday, Dec. 15 and hadn’t their winter break started by then? Although now that I think about it, that’s pretty early.

After reading this thread, I am all the more confused. >< When are decisions supposed to be posted (As opposed to when we desperately want them to be posted, which would be now)?

They’re “supposed” to be posted april 1. This goes for most schools. But they are almost always posted a week or so before.

^ Thanks. I am sooo nervous.
