O__O How did that happen?! Divulge! =P

nah…i deferred my matriculation cos i’m int’l student…

btw, anyone here knows if breckinbridge/pierce have pte baths or communal ones?

I’m so scared!!! Does everyone applying to the University of Chicago have amazing stats? I feel so mediocre on this site.

I have pretty good stats, but I’m still not confident… it definitely seems as if they essays are crucial, and although I know I’m capable of writing a good one, it still feels pretty hit-and-miss.

My stats are average. -_-;

I’m not resending scores for UChi, since they care more about you as a person.

cameliasinensis: i feel the same as you about the essay

but my alumni interview went fabulously, will that really help at all?

By ‘average’ scores - are you talking the 50% range of SAT scores provided by CollegeBoard (1440 SATs)?

Are you asking me? I meant kind of. My math is above the high end, and my verbal is below the low end.

I’m also retaking.

Kt Kegon, I stayed in Pierce when I visited eons ago; it had community bathrooms (they seemed to be co-ed, but I’m not sure). I don’t know about Breckenridge, but I would guess it has community bathrooms. I do know that Broadview, Shoreland, and Max P have private bathrooms.

a good resource for dormy-related things:

is anyone else afraid to visit uchicago because they fear getting attached in case of rejection? i sincerely hope that i’m not alone.

i think you still visit gonzo lux. the campus is gorgeous!

Oh gosh! wonderful!!! thank you so much amykins…that was a great help!

oh incidentally, anyone knows what the community baths look like at chicago? are there like…pictures/floorplans of them?

Interesting website. It says, though, that Snell-Hitchcock is “quiet and nerdy.” That mainly describes Snell, which probably takes on those characteristics due to the singles. Hitchcock is, well, loud and boisterous…and maybe nerdy (odd) as well. My friend asked me what it is like for me living in Snell, though he added, “Well, I know it’s not Hitchcock…” :-P

Community baths are perfectly fine in Snell, though I don’t know about the other dorms. I thought I would have a problem with having to share a bathroom with an entire floor, but I have been happy – though I don’t know if I would be so much so if I was on a co-ed floor.

My son is in Hitchcock and it usually sounds pretty lively when I call. I’m not sure that they are that far from the baseline nerdiness of the College as a whole.

Is there anyone already accepted into UChi who would be willing to take a look at my essay? I wrote a short story on the party for historical figures one.

I am getting exptremely nervous about my essays. I didn’t really like them when I wrote them, but my English teacher raved about them. Others here are thinking they took too big of a risk, while I think I didn’t take a big enough one. My endings are awkward and go nowhere even if I accept the other parts of them.
