Scarier news:

Beck told KTLA today that Sarkar had a list of names on him when he was found, including Klug’s and at least one other professor and a woman. The second professor has not been identified but Beck said he is fine. The woman, however, has since been found dead in Minnesota. Her name has not been released.

Beck is LAPD Chief.

I don’t even take my cell phone to class with me as I don’t want to forget and leave it in the classroom. We do at least have a system that would take over the computer projection system to send the alert and I typically am using the computer. I think my students would notice their text alerts going off, even if their phones were on silent. We used to have them opt in to the system, but I believe it is now automatic. Scary!
