The Theist Thread (TTT)

DING! DING! DING! Learn to read. :)

There is no god and all of you who believe in him need to get a life. Hahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahhahaahhahahahahahahah
Hahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahhahaahhahahahahahahah
Hahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahhahaahhahahahahahahah
Hahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahhahaahhahahahahahahah
!!!

Oh yeah same goes to the both types of creationists. The earth was not formed 10,000 years ago. Comon. It amazes me what stupid views some people can have and start to believe in just to be accepted in their small circle of “friends”.

NoobTalker,
Your stupidity really shows when you make incorrect statements. If you knew anything about Creationism, you would know that the earth was created 6,000 years ago not 10,000. Get a life, ■■■■■!

This point has been brought up in previous posts in this thread, and neither extreme sides (ie athiests or those who don’t believe in evolution) of the debate have really responded to it–but can’t Christianity (even creationist Christianity) and evolution find some common ground.

I disagree. I take the Bible word for word. The Bible does NOT say that each day is the equivalent to 50 million years(not sure what theistic evolutionists claim). I believe we have atheist and theist, creationist and theistic evolutionist. Our omnipotent God did not initiate the evolutionary process, why would He? Why would God equate each day with a certain period(let’s say 50 million years) Would not the Bible say this of if it were so?
As a Christian, we MUST be careful as to what we accept. The Bible says the earth was created in seven days and that is what I am going to accept. The miracle of Creation is one of the most awe inspiring, beautiful legends in the Scripture. Let us not taint this veritable story with evolutionary ideology.

I forgot to mention that I believe in Constants. A day was the same 6,000 years ago as a day is today.

Don’t degrade the quality of this thread anymore. Please.

Justinian: “I take the Bible word for word.”
Response: If the bible told you to jump off a cliff to get salvation would you do that? I am amazed people like you are still alive! You might be the living proof that evolution does not happen.

Christianity:

I would like to answer the one about evolution. It is sad that in todays society, many Christians believe in evolution. This seems to be quite prevalent especially in the RC church. However, the Methodists and Baptists strongly oppose Darwinian philosophy and believe that God created everything in 7 days. In my opinion, one is not a Christian believer if evolution is accepted. May I also add that I am completely befuddled as to why many Christians accept evolution ideology when the Bible clearly states that the earth and the universe were created in seven days.
Sorry Vicissitudes, however this is the TTT not the TAT(The atheists thread) Good day, and good luck!
Justinian I is offline
Yea I would like to say that whoever wrote this thread is amazingly ignorant of science and religion. Science has PROVED human evolution from primates. It has been shown that four primate chromosomes fused to form the two chromosomes that are in human DNA that makes humans have 46 instead of 48 chromosomes.

Now that that is out of the way. The problem with many modern chrisitians is that they refuse to back down their views when SO MUCH GODDAMN evidence has proven them wrong. I applaud the RCC for molding their views along with science. Just because evolution took place does not mean that one cannot believe in God or Jesus. So many people have just thought that science and religion are polar opposites that they cannot see that the two forces can blend together so long as there are concessions when need be on both sides. You cannot look to religion, nor current science, to explain everything in this world. To simply look at one or the other is to ignore the current limitations that both sides have within their arguments.

NoobTakular, perhaps I took this username before you could get to it. You are not better than us because you don’t believe in any religion. That’s your problem, not ours. Check the name of the title: The Theist Thread. Now that should be a pretty good sign that the “next thread” option is where you want to go. It sure is nice for you to enlighten us that the earth wasn’t created 10,000 years ago, and that “comon” evidence was so convincing I nearly fell out of my chair. Do you believe in anything that is greater than yourself? I’m not just talking about religion, I mean anything - an idea, a cause, anything. Because if you do, then I would be suprised if your “circle of friends” who believe the same is even close to the amount of people who are Christians.

And bobbobbob, I have no idea what who’s side you’re on here…

Im normally a very tolerant athiest (who obviously believes in evolution) until I see people who completely disregard 300 years of scientific investigation.

Noobtakular,
I surely am thankful that the Bible does not mandate that. I take the Bible word for word because there are no foolish commands to do such as the one you stated. If God wrote the Bible, then obviously he would require us to believe every word of the Scripture.
BobBobBob,
Learn to read. This is the TTT(The theists thread) Therefore, atheists should start their own thread somewhere else. It is absurd to the highest possible degree. I started a Harry Potter hate thread here a few months ago and people who loved Potter started posting there. Please people, this is a thread designed to discuss world religions, not to listen to ignorant posts by atheists(like Noobtakular)
BobBobBob, I can not ascertain from your jumbled, confusing post whether you are atheist or Bible believing. Your post is quite ambiguious, frankly.

“NoobTakular, perhaps I took this username before you could get to it.”
You regious people are soooooo elitist you “feel sorry” for everyone who does not share your beliefs because you think that they will suffer later for this. Religious people also have a tendency to consider people of no religion or another religion inferior to them to the point that they shamelessly torture and kill them.
“then I would be suprised if your “circle of friends” who believe the same is even close to the amount of people who are Christians.”
This is a fallacy of numbers. Majority is not always right.
I am just saying that the only reason religion exists is because people’s need for approval from others. So they come up with weird ideas like god, ghosts, aliens, homeopathy, and other paranormal stuff.
“Do you believe in anyting greater than yourself?”
Yes, in many things. However I don’t let them influence my decisions.

Yes, you must mean those great religious leaders led by Joseph Stalin, Chairman Mao and Pol Pot; there’s plenty of brutality to go around no matter the ideology or faith. And yet, sadly, most modern genocides have been committed by adamant atheists bent on exterminating those of a transcendent nature—millions of lost and tortured souls.

No one’s hands are clean. Every hand has touched the cord that tolls that awful bell.

…it is shameful to act otherwise.

Learn the correct quote function for the sake of everyone’s eyes

This is the TTT(The theists thread) Therefore, atheists should start their own thread somewhere else.

by keeping a post designated to a specific group of people, you are justifying your ignorance just as much as noob is by spamming it.

correct me if i am wrong but the whole purpose of a forum is for people to congregate and discuss different ideas, by designating a post to a specific group, you are in essense taking away the point of this here forum.

I’m so sorry, you know, sometimes it’s hard to read because I’m always on the edge of blacking out, since my burka restricts my air flow quite a bit.

Oh, wait, I don’t wear a burka. Maybe I was just rephrasing it or something? Nahh. That’s ridiculous.

“2.) Why did India ban the caste system, given that doing so will lead to adverse consequences in reincarnation?”

I dunno how right my information is, but I’m pretty sure that it’s because of this -

It used the be that you weren’t born into whatever caste you were in. Your caste was determined by how you practiced Hinduism. But when Britain colonized India, your caste was determined by who your ancesters were.

I see this is headed towards the evolution debate, yeesh, there’s already the “Do you beleive in God” thread for that. I personally don’t care if athiests post here, but if you’re going to debate on evolution/ whether god exists / why people who follow/ don’t follow religions are stupid / etc, do it on the other thread.

Here’s a question to answer: What misconceptions that people have about your religion/ lack thereof annoy you the most?

My answer: When people who do not belong to my religion assume that they know more about it than I do, and instead of listening to what I have to say, they reject my input entirely and tell me that I don’t know my own religion.
