Hes fine. He got high enough scores to be considered for a school like Harvard, so i dont think theres any need to worry.
I never had any college interviews
oh well I still got into all the schools I applied to that offered them.
HELP iâm going to be interviewing ONCAMPUS at hopkins in a few weeks, and I need some advice.
- should I bring a resume?
- how should I dress?
- what types of questions will they be asking?
any help would be wonderful
So Iâm going to be visiting Gtown in a few months, and it is my top top top choice, so I had a questionâ
Do you think it is better to do oneâs interview on campus, or back home with an alumnus?
Personally, I would bring a resumeâI brought one to my Kenyon interview in March and my interviewer seemed pleasantly surprised. From your username Iâm assuming youâre a girl, in that case a nice skirt or pants and blouse should be suitable. They might ask you about your extracurricular activities (esp. if you bring a resume), why youâre interested in Hopkins, what you could contribute to the community etc.
I hope that helps, good luck with your interview!
I got accepted to every college where i had an interview. iâm not sure if it made a difference, but i love being interviewed i always have a blast doing it.
i only had three though with gtown and phone convos witn columbia and princeton
Bananasandwichâ
How was gtown?
I thought it was fun. interviews are conversations and if you know how to talk youâll be fine. there was a trivia section about gtown history which i failed, but it wasnât a big deal.
Thank you for the trivia thing!
Where did you have your interview (coffee shop, house, etc.)?
Iâve had a bunch of bs/md & ba/md interviews, and iâd just advise that you obviously want to have compelling reasons as to what got you into medicine and what youâve done to explore medicine, but, more than that, you should have a story in which you can make all the details of choppy medical experiences flow together in an almost entertaining, attention-capturing way.
Essentially, just be able to comfortably have a conversation on any aspect of your life.
When the interviewer asks you what you would bring to the community, are you supposed to talk about your ECs or what?
Just mention whatever you think you can contribute to the community. Doesnât have to be just ECs.
So like your personality, basically?
Well, I donât want to tell you what you have to say. Just think about it for yourself. Thereâs no correct answer.
for thank you notes, is much typically said besides something like âthank you for taking the time to meet with me, blah blah blah, im very interested in your university?â or are they oftentimes lengthy? also, would an email suffice, or do they need to be handwritten.
A short e-mail that basically says âThank youâŠâ is fine. They donât affect whether you get in or not; theyâre just for courtesy.
Iâm currently looking at a couple schools that say that theyâll contact me about an interview, yet they say interviews are held for ED/EA in October-November and for RD December-February.
They also say, only offered to official applicants.
How are they supposed to know whoâs applying before November 1 for ED/EA and before January 1 or so for RD? Is it that the people who they interview in October are ones that have already submitted apps? Itâs kind of confusingâŠ
@homerslipppers - yes, youâll be contacted after youâve submitted your application. The people being interviewed in October will have submitted their applications before the November 1 deadline.
Just wonderingâŠS had a couple of on-campus interviews recently. At one Ivy League school - his first choice, BTW - he reported that the interview didnât go well. He felt that he did well on his other interviews, but he said this interviewer basically had a âchecklistâ and just read through the questions. Basically showed no interest in the interview at all. It was nothing like the other schools (another Ivy and 2 other highly ranked ones) and heâs now concerned about how this will affect his chances.
Has anyone else had an experience like this?
this has to have been asked, but how formal (clothing wise)? im a guy
