The town is very connected to the college (the main street is basically the edge of campus). There is a main street with some different businesses (by this I mean a few stores, restaurants, service places), but basically, it is the main street and everything else around town is simply residential. It’s a very beautiful little town with lots of nice green streets though. But the town doesn’t really offer much in the way of entertainment, just some of the basic necessities. Due to lack of public transportation, I do tend to feel isolated and would probably get off campus a bit more if I could find a way. There are some parks and bigger shopping areas closer to Oberlin, but the next big city is Cleveland. However, I’ve managed to survive basically not venturing out of the town except for breaks, and though sometimes I’d like to get out more, as you said yourself, there’s a lot going on on campus to make up for it. Plus you’re a busy student so it’s hard to find time to get off campus!
