Hi,
I just wanna say that I agree with the OP completely. The intellectual atmosphere of the school dominates for sure but the frat scene is also always there. Good frat parties are a hit or miss btw. I just came back from one yesterday and it was very very fun, whereas the one I went to a couple of weeks back (AEII) had sucky music that skipped all the time because stupid people kept tripping on the cord.

I have to admit, I was very much against drinking and partying on principle before I came here, much like Kmad here, but I did get into it more once I came here after realizing that hey, drinking =/= total sin and in controlled doses it can be really fun (in certain contexts), and people who do drink and the people who do not have personalities that are virtually indistinguishable from each other here.

Nobody–absolutely nobody pressures anyone to drink here. That’s just silly. Also, frat parties are very chill here, because after all, even if some people here do drink and party, they still love Kant and discussing math proofs and whatever. We’re all still nerds at heart. This also reminds me of something: I just saw the “That Kid” in my sosc class acting like a ■■■■■■■■ drunk yesterday night, and it was quite, quite quite hilarious.
