<p>The OP is deluded if he thinks UChicago parties are good. From the few parties I’ve been to as a first year, UChicago parties are usually pretty lame. Some of my friends who are girls tell me that dancing/music at some frats make it worthwhile, but a ton of alcohol isn’t the only things that makes a party good. You need cool people too, and this is where UChicago is lacking. </p>
<p>Everyone says that many UChicago students abstain from partying because they prefer a quieter scene. My take, instead, is that these people, who didn’t party in HS, now suddenly find the need to go out and party because it’s now such a viable option. They’re out of place, but still think they’re cool because they go out and get wasted every weekend. This all makes for a pretty weak party scene, imo.</p>
