<p>Jason - So sorry you didn’t get in. Engineering really is the toughest.</p>
<p>Where are you going to attend? I’m sure things will work out for you. If your heart is still with UCD, do well wherever you go and you could ask for a transfer. It really is not as hard to transfer between UCs as some may think. UCD is particularly accepting of transfers (or at least those with strong GPAs ). One does not need to wait til junior year to request a transfer. I even know quite a few students that didn’t like Berkeley (went there for the prestige factor- but it was not a good fit) and transferred to Davis.</p>
<p>Did you ask admissions if you could change your major and be reconsidered? You don’t have to officially declare until the end of sophomore year. There were a LOT of kids at the admitted student’s day that were undeclared majors and there is nothing to say (as far as I know) that an undeclared major can’t declare as an engineering major in their sophomore year.</p>
<p>mr18359: They said the rubric for appeals did not include a major change so I wouldn’t have luck there.</p>
<p>I honestly want to dive into engineering asap. I’m truly motivated to learn engineering, and I’m extremeley excited about it. As I’ve heard, a lot of people seem to dropout of engineering. I’ll definitely not be one of them. I’m still down about my situation, but I’ll handle it. Thanks everyone for their support and good luck to those who’ve gotten in or are waiting for their appeal. Go to UCD with pride and succeed there >=).</p>
<p>Seriously…I’m really sorry to hear that Jason…my appeal to Berkeley got rejected so I’m going to UCD and I’m happy about that…I really hope more people like you go to UCD! So where are you going? UCI?</p>

<p>Are you serious Chrisr88? Wow. Ugh we both are going for engineering. The cutoff is 7550 this year, and I got 7440. Did they discuss to you about that? Dude…gah I still want to go to UCD, but we need to kick some ass at UCI. I say we dominate the electrical and computer engineering department.
