The Wait List

received a waitlist update email from choate yesterday stating “we are closely monitoring our enrollment and remain committed to the possibility of making some offers of admission to waitlisted students in the coming days.”

they wouldnt have sent this email if they werent planning on using the waitlist right?

can’t really say so, they’re clearly keeping the waitlist in play, meaning they might anticipate some room opening up.

We were waitlisted for three schools.

School 1: We were contacted by an athletic coach to see if we would be able to come for a revisit but have not been moved off the waitlist.

School 2: Top choice…email sent to Admissions plus a note from my child…they responded saying that they will keep our name top of mind should something open up.

School 3: second choice…email sent to admissions plus a note from my child…crickets

I don’t think we will be moved off any waitlist unfortunately

Same..:crossed_fingers:

Has anyone got off the waitlist?

Our child has made a decision to attend SM, but received an email today from their first choice school seeing if they are available for a phone call tomorrow morning (He is currently waitlisted there)

Can someone help! :frowning:

I’m thinking they’re not going to call to say you’re out…..thoughts???

Thank you all so much

Certainly not. So be prepared to have the conversation about if you’d say yes.

Sounds like probably good news! Check in with your son tonight as to whether it is still his first choice, and hopefully you haven’t paid the deposit to SM!

Have not officially said yes to SM…no deposit given but loves the school… also said that if his dream school doesn’t want him then he doesn’t want to go there.

No aid at either school

They may offer you a spot so be prepared for that. It is also possible that they are calling to gauge interest in staying on the WL because they anticipate having space but aren’t sure yet. That would mean forfeiting a deposit and not beingtotallyall in at SMS..

It isn’t uncommon to hit a point where you just want to stick with your plan, so you might want to think through your feelings on that too.

Hoping it’s the news you want!

Did anyone hear anything yet from PEA for waitlist?

We were offered a spot off the waitlist at my DD’s top school last year and this was exactly our experience. So, if I’m guessing, I’d say it’s an evaluation of interest and a verbal offer. If you accept verbally they’ll send out the contract. That’s how it happened for us, anyway.

My daughter got an email this afternoon that Groton will not be going to the waitlist (9th grade domestic boarder).
They gave the option to stay on the waitlist in case their “numbers drop over the summer, but it is only a slight chance.”
We declined staying on the waitlist, as it wasn’t her top choice.

Did anyone got off the Emma Willard waitlist? (I am interested if you are an international boarding 11th grade student but any information would be useful)

Has anyone heard back from PEA from waitlist for 10th grade girls??

Should I send LOCI now or after A10?
