the word "rejected"

<p>i decided a while ago to say “i did not match at school x” instead of “school x rejected me.” i like to think a lot of it has to be about fit…</p>

<p>I also believe that. Lots of really superior candidates get rejected when they don’t ‘fit in’, and people with less than stellar grades/SAT scores get in also.</p>

<p>Or how about the Cal Poly rejection, I heard it was harsh. One simple sentence,</p>

<p>“You have not been conditionally accepted to Cal Poly.”</p>

<p>i think it was Princeton that used to just send out pieces of paper with only the words ‘‘NO’’ or ‘‘YES’’ written on them.</p>
