^ The fact that non-Swedes are more often suspected and/or convicted of crimes might also be due in part to racial profiling. Swedes aren’t immune to racism, though most would like to think they are.

I’ve been to Sweden a number of times for work. It’s a pleasant, comfortable place, if a bit dull. I feel safer walking around any quarter of Stockholm at any time of day or night than I do in any U.S. city. And their commitment to gender equality is real and far-reaching, far surpassing the U.S. in that regard.
