Wow. I’m sorry you had such a horrible interviewer. You did nothing wrong! Even if you were actually 10 minutes late, that’s not that late! I was a bit late for one of my interviews (about 10 minutes, too), I briefly apologized, and that was that. My interviewer didn’t even seem to notice.

You shouldn’t have rescheduled. You should have sat right down and demanded an interview! Don’t feel bad. It’s a shame colleges have such lousy interviewers sometimes.

ouch, man, but as M’s Mom said earlier, the interview isn’t a required part of admission, so don’t worry about it. Unless you swore at the person, which I doubt you did.

I don’t think it’s big problem either. I live in China too and I didn’t recognize my Brown interviewer at first either. But the rest went great.
I did my Columbia interview by phone because the alumni said he was really busy. You could probably try that if your interviewer is that busy.
Good Luck!

lol dude so i want to major in American history right and guess what…my interviewer was a professor of american history at a local university, alumni of CC.

so like i go in there and he tells me to name him some of the books i’ve read on history…he literally kept on asking until I had named 6 (or is it 7?) cuz i named one, gave summary/my impression, paused…he asked me 6 times lol. then he went and asked me the authors of these books…it was not curiosity cuz i proceed to pronounce one of the author’s names and he corrected me in the middle. I’m kind of scared now cuz i couldn’t name like half the authors and had to say I forgot :(.

it’s ok. at least at the end of your interview your interviewer didn’t tell you that Columbia is most definitely not the school for you…story of my life ):

lol hahvad, seems like you have your eyes on harvard tho haha jk. but yeah ur interview is def … lets just say not the nicest person around. but dude yeah my interview started talking about how i might not be able to fit in new york city…half of our interview was him discussing new york city and how its dangerous. lol. no joke.

^You’d think an alum would promote the school and not warn you about it’s weak points. Yes, it was nice of him to warn you about the dangers of NYC, but come on. :D

@collegeftw hahaha I wonder what happened to him to make him so passionate about city safety haha.

@stalkermama I commented on how people at my school are so competetive that they won’t tell people where they are applying, but how I feel like it is not going to stop anyone from applying so I just tell people where I am applying. And he was just like “oh” and sorta frowned. And then brought up at the end that Columbia students are ultra competetive

Well anyways, good luck to everyone else with interviews!
