Dear HofstraRep, maybe you can clear this for me. I’m quite confused.
“Students interested in performance should prepare an audition consisting of two contrasting pieces, preferably one classical, of no more than two minutes each. Students who wish to sing should prepare one monologue and 32 bars of one song. Bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. No recorded accompaniment, please.”

What do the “two contrasting pieces” consist of? Is it two contrasting songs or two contrasting monologs? Also, the BFA in Theatre Arts doesn’t require an audition? Does the BFA in Theatre Arts have an emphasis on Musical Theatre? I would greatly appreciate an explanation about the audition process as well. Please and thank you.
