There aren't many 3.3 gpa kids with 2100 SAT scores. Where do they end up?

Haha-- and was there a happy outcome, jym? Sounds like it!

You learn that stuff you wrote 6 years ago is not that important today. :)

Gwen-
Dunno- it was an article about some kid who aced the then new 2400 SAT and the ACT. Wasnt my kid!

I didn’t see OP date either, but think this is a good thread to celebrate their accomplishments and give others hope.

My nephew! A 3.0 and a 2100 SAT landed him a full tuition ride to Ohio University! He’s now a straight A student at OU and heading into his third year this fall.

I like this thread too, as this is exactly my S… +100 on the SAT though. I know SO many boys who are like this. At my S’s private prep school a lot of these boys get into top schools… this in turn infuriates the harder working but lower test score girls… and I don’t blame them.

Uhm this was basically me. My school doesn’t calculate GPA in the normal way but I got about 2 B-s a year, a B+, and 3 As or A-s. Did well on SATs. Headed to “a good college.”

Oh and btw…I’m a girl.

I know this is an old thread, but I always try to leave a comment when this topic comes up in conversation because I know the college application process can make you feel more than a bit inadequate, and the waiting period can get unbearable if you don’t know where you stand in the admissions game. I’m not a boy, but I guess otherwise I fit the profile to a tee–3.3 GPA, high SAT score (2350) and great SAT IIs (800s). And I’m going to Reed in exactly one month :)

Don’t worry; because ours is a slightly atypical sort of applicant, I think the schools that accept students like us tend to be mostly the schools we want to attend. I mean, you’ll probably experience rejection, and you’ll probably be anxious and worried about your future for a while, but things will work out. Just apply wisely, research your schools thoroughly, and write sincere and clear essays. Everything else is outside your control at this point. So, you know, chill out and trust that adcoms know what they’re doing. They do!

I was pretty much like Ghostt (3.3 GPA, a few 800s on SAT I and IIs). I got into every single college I applied to except one, and now I’m at Claremont McKenna. With a much better GPA so far than I had in high school, incidentally! There is hope.

P.S. And I’m a girl too.
