They are gone; house too big

I have two more weeks of a whirlwind and tornado daughter too. I really love having her around. She livens things up and cracks us up - sometimes intentionally and sometimes unintentionally. My son is more mellow; it is much quieter when she is gone.

When she is here, her room once again looks tiny, as her clothes, shoes, and stuff cover every square inch of floor, dresser, and bed space. The last time I was in her bedroom I told her “Your room seemed so roomy when you were away!”

She moved away to school early last July and was only home a few days in August before fall session started, so before this break, she hadn’t slept here for so long. Sadly, it is looking like she won’t be here much next summer either, although we should get a week or two in May and again a few days in August, before and after the 2009 summer sessions. I miss her already just thinking about it. She loves college, though. I’m glad she’s happy.
