They Are Up

First of all, congratulations to all of you who got in and also to those receiving generous aid packages.

I would appreciate if some of you could provide some honest insight to my situation. Less than a week ago, I logged into the application status site and discovered I have been placed on the “Alternate List”, and that I would be notified of a later decision in April/May. I am obviously frustrated by this, but what’s done is done. What do you all think the outcome will be?

-3.46 GPA (w/hardest curriculum offered at HS)
-#7/107 students (top 10%)
-26 ACT score (one point below 50th percentile range)
-president, officer of various different clubs, good amount of community service, good recommendation, and I thought a good essay)
-interview at Case, which IMO went nicely
-expressed a lot of interest

Now, I realize I am not one of the more stellar applicants by any means, but I thought I would’ve gotten in RD. I had been deferred EA.

If Case doesn’t work out, I’ll be fine. I still have The Ohio State University (scholars program) and Miami University which I have been accepted to. I wish to major in something along International Business Administration now (which has changed since I applied to CWRU). Econ w/ a foreign language minor would be fine at Case for me.

I would greatly appreciate all replies. I would still love to go to Case, but if they notify me to late, I will have probably already made other commitments. Which brings me to my final question: when do those off the alt. list typically find out?

Also, I sent Case a kind appeal letter last week (maybe not such a great idea) and they have not responded, at all.
