Things everyone's crazy about... that do not interest you

Football - especially the Super Bowl. Twitter. Avocado toast. Coffee made from beans an animal has eaten and then excreted. The Accidental Icon.

Coffee. All coffee.

The Senate. Everybody is constantly talking about how great they are.

I’m trying to imagine the social circle where friends discuss The Accidental Icon. Kardashians I understand. They are all over the place. Lyn Slater? Kind of niche interest it seems to me??

In my area of the country, Fox News. It’s on every tv at every doctors office and waiting area. Why?

I’m with you on the casinos and genealogy, I’m not personally interested. But my friend today told me her sister did and they traced their roots back to the mayflower. I would not be so interesting.

Another thing peculiar to my area, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling.

I keep thinking that grandkids will be like my own kids. I never liked kids but I love my own. But I’m in no hurry. Sometimes I feel like an outlier.

@intparent HQ trivia!

Wine, Disney World/Land, yes- also hunting, fantasy and science fiction novels.

Pretty much everything.

Kids sports

“Reality” shows, especially any with singing or dancing or business ideas. Casinos. Bad medicine like Naturopathic or homeopathy, cleanses etc. Pro sports. Most “celebrities”, especially those who are only famous for being famous, like the Kardashians. (I do appreciate those who are famous for their talents…I’ll watch any movie Judy Densch is in)

I admit to being a longtime genealogy buff and book club participant.

Coffee.
Chocolate.

Reality tv

This always amuses me- when people are so proud of tracing their ancestors back to the early 1600s (or earlier!) in the now-Americas. England didn’t send over their best and brightest. They sent their trash and criminals.

“My family was among the first settlers at Jamestown!”
Me (thinking) “Oh that’s nice. I wonder if your grandpa ate your grandma.”

Ok, I’m a boring person.

And hear I thought the settlers from the Mayflower were escaping religious persecution.
