Good thread. My life has not been that easy post-Hurricane Sandy and reading all of your joys was a needed slap on the side of the head to get some perspective.

Surviving my “almost” car accident this morning on the icy road. I slid right through a red light and almost got T-boned, fIshtailed, spun a 180, slammed into the curb and over the median, crossed through two oncoming lanes while spinning two 360’s, and came to stop in the oncoming lane facing a large pickup coming toward me. He was able to slow down and pass by. I sat there stunned for a couple of seconds and then simply drove back over the median and into my proper lane. There was not a scratch on me or my car.

I have been joyful from that moment on!

Wow, baseballmom.

You might want to get the car looked at because you slammed into a curb. I slammed into a curb on an icy road once and discovered later that I had damaged my steering, which needed to be repaired for safety reasons even though the car seemed OK.

Oh, and to answer the question at the top of the thread, someone left an almost full can of wasabi peas in the office kitchen this morning, and nobody but me seemed interested in eating them. Yummy. Over and over. All day. It was a great day at work.

Thanks, Marian. I have an inspection sticker appointment Saturday, so I’ll mention it. I feel like changing my name from baseballmom to glad2beALIVE!

Baseballmom, thank goodness you are ok, that could have really been worse!

Elleneast, thank you, I actually forgot to put that on my list. I LOVE when we are finally on the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard. Priceless and sheer joy! Eating clams and a cold draft beer at The Lookout!

“Magically” sending books and songs to my DD2’s Kindle. I think she is truly puzzled how they get there but she is so joyful and appreciative. I can hear her scream from accross the house when she opens her kindle.

Reading student responses to The best thing that happened in 2012 ___ and one of my students wrote ‘being in Mrs. H’s class this year.’ It was nice to be back with those sweet kids today, but I’m glad it’s a three day week. :)

Time spent with my adult kids and my sweet grandson. And always, time spent with my DH/best friend.
