What about just simple etiquettes, like you wait for everyone to be served before eating, or not to talk while you have food in your mouth, or you bring food to your mouth, not your face to the food.
I couldn’t help it. ![]()
We were going to have pimento cheese sandwiches this weekend, so I bought my first ever loaf of Wonder Bread. The pimento cheese was going to come from a special event at our local park. Turns out, there were only samples
. So what to do with the loaf of wonder bread now? I’ve never made croutons, anybody care to share how I could make them, preferably to be used in panzanella or Caesar salads?
In Northern NJ we used City to mean Manhattan and in Brooklyn we used City to mean Manhattan. However, people in Southern NJ use City to mean Philly, and people in Boston suburbs use City to mean Boston!
And people in London use City to mean The Square Mile: City of London - Wikipedia
When living in the area, I more often heard “Town” in that context, e.g. “We’re going shopping in Town.”
Yeah, it’s Bean Town, not Bean City. ![]()
As a panzanella salad fan, I only use really good Italian bakery bread. Many make bread crumbs? Growing up I begged my mom to buy wonder bread, but Pepperidge farm it was (and strawberry preserves and crunchy peanut butter instead of grape jelly and creamy).
I feed stale bread to the birds.
I grew up eating guava jelly as my jelly for PB & J. Florida native here.
I think some people eat their PB with marshmallow fluff!!
My dh eats PB with bacon and bananas. Think that was a favorite of Elvis Presley. Is that common knowledge??
Also to distinguish THE Ohio State University from Ohio University, in Athens, Ohio.
I love guava jelly.
Oh, my husband is a big Elvis fan so that is very common knowledge here (and I used to love flutternuffers, although I’m not a marshmallow fan, just a good combo).
I rely on pics in the old red and white checked cookbook for table setting
And there is a logical grid system to the names of streets in DC
It should be common knowledge that one replies promptly to invitations and honors the terms of the RSVP.
It should be common knowledge that one sits in their assigned seat on planes and at movies.
I just booked (expensive) coach flights to Seattle for a wedding for us and our adult kids, my kids usually fly basic economy but I booked coach to be able to chose seats and bring carryons (6 hour flight). My daughter (who travels a lot more than I do) asked why spend the money when you can always ask others if they would switch. I explained I don’t want to be one of those people (I need an aisle due to bring claustrophobic, one son is 6’1 230, I like to sit near H…).
When your daughter asks other passengers to switch, does she offer her better seat to trade for the other person’s worse seat?
I have no idea, she does fly alone half of the time so I doubt she’d ask to switch then because she honestly doesn’t care where she sits and cant understand why someone would be uncomfortable in a middle seat or sitting with strangers. I’m guessing she’s seen it done and didn’t think it was a big deal (most of my kids are very chill and would absolutely switch if someone asked, they take after H who can’t be bothered to pick a seat even when traveling for work alone, I’m the problem child).
Yes, we usually use ciabatta, just was wondering if I could make any croutons from the wonder bread. Probably will give to the birds.
Toast it, and fry it in butter or olive oil or whatever, and cut it into squares. Toss with herbs.
