<p>Anyone familiar with reproducing the tasty effects of a technique like setting the curry on high for 20-30 mins (and almost forgetting about it, after being engrossed in a tough timed chess game) and producing copious amounts of smoke? Because even though I set off the fire alarm and had to wait outside for the fire department (most embarrassing moment ever), it made the curry taste awesome. Nothing seemed to be burnt at all.</p>
<p>you can brown or toast your spices either in a pan or the oven before you add it to your dish.
however fire fighters are pretty cute. ;)</p>
