This is so weird. I think there is something wrong with my application

understood. thankyou for the detailed response

very helpful. thanks

aha right

You can’t get loans for such a huge amount.

On campus jobs are good for spending money.

There really are no safetys in the US for an international student needing significant aid. Have you applied to colleges in India as well?

Are you able to take loans of $200,000 (for Georgia Tech) to $350,00 or more (for the private schools) in your home country?

It’s not easy to get RA and TA jobs as an undergrad, and they’ll pay $15-20/hour. Other on campus jobs may pay even less. You can do the math (assuming a maximum of 20 hours a week) and you’ll see it doesn’t come even close to the cost of attendance. College is very expensive - even for Americans.

Also, you will not be able to get a student visa unless you show proof of finances. You cannot rely on hypothetical future income - the U.S. State Dept won’t accept that.

  1. RA jobs are HIGHLY competitive and can not be counted on to fund any portion of your college costs. In addition, these are not for incoming freshmen anyway.

  2. TA
you might be fortunate and land a TA job but it will be IMPOSSIBLE to fund your college costs doing this.

  3. On campus jobs
again
you can get one, but this won’t make a dent in your college tuition, room and board costs.

Actually if you added the total of all three of these things together, the money or benefits earned would NOT fund your college costs.

And this. To get a student visa to attend college here, you will need to complete a certificate of finance. This will need to show you have the funds already to cover your costs to attend college here. This can include already awarded college financial aid, money your parents (not other relatives) have in the bank. It cannot include potential future sources of income (like RA, TA, on campus job income) because there is no guarantee you will get any of these. It can not include future gifts or loans that have not been already approved.

What’s your concern, being caught or being ethical?

@aads02, this is part of the attestation you make upon submitting an application to U.S. colleges via the Common App:

“I certify that all information submitted in the admission process — including this application and any other supporting materials — is my own work
”

On a student visa, you are limited to being allowed to work for 20 hours a week and only on campus jobs. This is nowhere near going to pay for college. College costs in the US vs what you can earn at minimum wage jobs is probably the steepest ratio world wide.

Possibly, but also very likely admissions committees who literally read tens of thousands of essays are very adept at picking up AI in essays. And this is probably a dealbreaker regardless how good the rest of your application is.

There’s software.

A few weeks ago, (? 2nd&3rd year) international students who were found to have faked/forged part of their application were arrested, couldn’t pay bail so were kept in jail, and are awaiting trial for forgery&fraud, considering they were given a spot at a college that could have gone to someone else + a scholarship worth over $100,000 at that point. The US doesn’t take lying/cheating as par for the course, but as a serious offense.

A few comments:

Typically AI will generate a bland and uninspired reply which is exactly what top tier colleges are not looking for. Hopefully it was used sparingly.

As others have stated, you will not be able to get loans in the US and work options will be very limited. Finances must be in place prior to attending college in the US.

Please recognize that with a $20k (approx) budget you are asking a college in a foreign country to basically gift you close to a quarter of a million dollars towards your education. You are a viable applicant, but so are many others. If it works out, consider yourself fortunate. Again, I hope you also consider some of the very fine options in your home country.
