OP-You have to accept that you disappointed your father’s unrealistic expectations. You got into a coveted pharm honors program in a brutal college application year. Be satisfied you are going into a program that will prepare you for a good career. You have to be proud of your accomplishment independent of what he thinks. Trying to please your parents and a whole community of family friends is a losing battle. Next they will be critiquing your choice of your future job, future mate, where you will live, your future kid, the list goes on and on. Don’t try to change their minds’ about NEU, they won’t change. You could try talking candidly with your Dad. “Dad, please be happy for my choice of college. Your attitude about NE is hurtful to me because I think it is a great fit for me. If you can’t be glad for me then stop comparing me to my sister.” Good Luck.

NEU was listed in a recent article as the NUMBER ONE up and coming university in the US. I know they are working hard on this and I expect by the time you graduate, it will have moved up the ladder quite a bit. In fact I think I read that has been jumping 30 spots per year over the last 2-3 years on the US News charts.
Also…pharmacy!!! You definitely should go!
PS: I LOVE BOSTON (not a current student)
I have a feeling your dad will be bragging about you before you know it :)
