Thoughts on an "Automatic Admission" policy?

@fl1234: I did not misrepresent anything.

I was asked by two posters in this thread to explain “Why ?” UF should offer automatic admissions based on class rank & minimum standardized test scores for Florida high school students. In responding, I googled the mission statements of three state universities–Texas, Georgia & Florida. I was a bit surprised by the use of the phrase “exclusive public education” with respect to UF.

The mission statement no longer appears among the first items after a google search.

Apparently it was from The Strategic Plan of the State Board of Governors (which was updated within the last 30 days in October, 2019).

"The mission of the University of Florida as described in the Strategic Plan of the State Board of Governors: “The University of Florida is committed to educating students so they are prepared to make significant contributions within an increasingly global community offering a broad-based, exclusive public education, leading edge research, and service to the citizens of Florida, the nation and the world.”

Although the google search no longer reveals the documents containing this phrase among the top items, as it did just one day ago when I googled “mission statement University of Florida”, you can google “exclusive public education University of Florida” and among the responses will be some recent & some older UF documents.
