Mini splits don’t “hang” on the wall, they go through to the outside. They are very low-profile, extending only about 8” into the room and come in several colors. We opted for stainless.

Our mini splits are white, like our walls and blen in fine.

And if you are willing to cut holes in your ceiling you can also get these. I had a client who put them in when we were finishing his basement.

Yes, I know that. “Hang” wasn’t the best word but you will have it visibly in the room (as opposed to central air) . I have not seen ones that are stainless steel or something other than the off white ones!

That’s what we are considering. We already have a “hole” where out whole hpuse fan is located. This would take its place.
