Three Days in Los Angeles?

We liked Griffith Park observatory. And Santa Monica pier. If time permits, drive south along the shore.

Seats in the studio audience for Jeopardy! are free. And they are more likely to be available if you go to the afternoon taping session. On taping says they tape three games in the morning and two more after lunch, and they clear the studio and let in a new audience between sessions. And as I recall the afternoon sessions usually had a few empty seats left.

I feel like in recent years I’ve become a tour guide to LA. Last time I had a guest, we took the tour of the Kodak theater and it was really worth it, although for me not much else on Hollywood Blvd. is. But all the photos of Oscar winners, the history and explanation and the venue itself were worth the price of admission. Then you can walk across the street and see the Roosevelt Hotel, home of the first Oscars and a place that still feels like another era. Of course, you can also see the footprints and the stars on the sidewalk.

It’s always beautiful to drive through Beverly Hills and Bel Air and Greystone Mansion, a hidden gem, is lovely. It’s fun to walk on Rodeo Drive. The Disney Concert Hall is worth seeing and taking a tour of. Also, the new Roman Catholic church downtown is quite interesting, regardless of whether or not you are Catholic. Younger people enjoy going to Venice, the Santa Monica Pier and the Promenade and the new mall next to the Promenade. Of course, the beach is also right there.

I love the Huntington Museum and gardens and this would be very nice time to go, but it’s a bit out of the way. However, many people from other areas, love the drive on the 210 freeway where you get to experience the hills of SoCal which are quite lovely. You get that if you drive to the Reagan library as well. The Getty Villa is very nice and the beaches in that area of Malibu are nicer than in Santa Monica.

Forgot to add: Jeopardy is taped at Sony Picture Studios in Culver City (which is pretty much indistinguishable form the rest of LA).

Canter’s Deli - [Canters Deli-Home](http://www.cantersdeli.com/)

Take a drive on Mulholland Drive (suggest starting in Hollywood and going up Laurel Canyon (past Houdini’s home) and then head east on Mulholland Drive. This will take you to the Skirball Museum or you can go South on Sepulveda to the Getty.

^^Actually, Culver City is enjoying a bit of cultural cachet these days. Kirk Douglas theatre, trendy shops and restaurants, and this: [Eric Owen Moss and Culver City, Los Angeles : The New Yorker](Neighborhood Watch | The New Yorker)

The Laurel Canyon drive is a good suggestion. Very pretty and lots of LA history associated with it.
OP, where will you be staying in Los Angeles? And what kind of activities do you enjoy?
