<p>Tidwell And Mahoney Selected To Postseason All-Star Games</p>
<p>ANNAPOLIS, Md.-Naval Academy head football coach Paul Johnson announced today that senior outside linebackers Tyler Tidwell (Edmond, Okla.) and David Mahoney (Fort Myers, Fla.) have been selected to play in postseason all-star games. </p>
<p>Tidwell, who has recorded 50 tackles and eight tackles for a loss this year, will play in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 20 at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. Tidwell is the 19th Naval Academy player to participate in the game and the first since Kyle Eckel in 2004. Tidwell is the first defensive player from Navy to be selected to the game since Josh Brindel in 2002. Tidwell is the school record holder for sacks in a season (10 in 2005) and ranks third on the career sack list (16).</p>
<p>Mahoney, who is second on the team with 76 tackles and leads the team with 9.5 tackles for a loss, will play in the Hula Bowl All-Star Game on Jan. 14 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is the 25th Naval Academy player to play in the game and the first since Kyle Eckel in 2004. Mahoney is the first defensive player from Navy to be selected to the game since Chris Lepore in 2000. Mahoney is second all-time at Navy in tackles for a loss (40) and sacks (20) in a career.</p>
