Timing a trip to London

I’m so envious! England is one of my absolute favorite places! I have been there at many different times of the year, and have never encountered horrific weather. Maybe because I’m a native Oregonian so a little rain is never a show-stopper.

So, what would I recommend? I have gone all over England and Scotland by train, and would recommend it.

Try to get to Bath, then up to Edinburgh. I took the train all the way up to Inverness, and it was just beautiful enjoying the scenery. Oh, and get to Hadrian’s Wall on the border. That is a very enjoyable and informative area.

On one trip, my focus was visiting hedge mazes, another time it was visiting wool-producing areas. You might want to pick an interest and build an itinerary around that. I admit I have always wanted to do the Whiskey Trail in Scotland.

If you want to see castles, I would suggest Canterbury and Salisbury. Windsor is nice too.

Can’t wait to see what you end up doing!
