Tips for Digital SAT prep

Any suggestions for practicing just the hard math module? My daughter has done the “difficult” rated questions in the college board question bank but i think would benefit from doing several hard math modules under time pressure. Is there a way to skip the 2 English modules and 1st math module in the online practice tests? Other suggestions?

Yes, for the EBRW section, she can skip all the modules by going to the black box at the bottom and clicking next, or just skipping every question and hitting next. She will get a minimum score of 200.

However, if she wants to get to just the hard math module, she has to complete the first math module and get no more than six or seven wrong. (Not sure of the cut off.) She needs to do well enough on the first math module to get the harder second module. It is not possible to bypass the first math module and get the hard 2nd one. She can bypass the first math module and get the 2nd easy one though.

BTW, the same is true if someone just wants to practice the EBRW modules.

This is kind of random and out-of-place since I’m now a senior and the SAT is behind me, but today I received an email from the College Board stating they have new changes to the extra/extended time version of the exam. Rather than having to wait for all of your extra time to expire (eg: say you finish EBRW module 1 in 40 minutes and you have 1.5x time so you have to wait 8 minutes just for time to expire), you can now move on to the next section after standard time (so, for the aforementioned example, 32 minutes is standard time) pass! This goes the same for the math modules, too! I wish this was a thing when I took it…but I feel like I still would’ve taken my time. The catch is, you can’t go back to other parts of the test though…once you hit “next” within that timeframe, you’re not getting back.
As a student with these accommodations, I say to use all your time in case you regret something from just trying to finish the test to get out rather than maximizing your scoring opportunities. This also apparently applies to PSAT 8/9, PSAT 10, the NMSQT exam, the Digital SAT, and digital AP exams using Bluebook!

I just wanted to update people… ~Liv

So much helpful info.

Yes this happened for my daughter on her first practice math section only SAT test last week, she took it cold and is in 10th grade. I wanted to see if she needed a summer program to prep but she actually scored in the low 700 range, Huntington learning center said she scored 85% on module one and went straight to module two. Needless to say they still tried to sell me on needing to purchase a 24 hour tutor package with them, however given all the info here I’m going to have her do khan academy and whiz study.

I suggest learning to use Desmos - there are a lot of advanced features and free video courses on them available
