No, she goes to Enloe.

Just logged on after 3 weeks. Where’s the Indian thread guys ?

Mollie got into the Harvard Ph.D program with a 3.3 from MIT.

Awesomeee

MIT’s GPA is out of 5.

All right, so she got a 3.3/5.0.

Ahhh I love Mollie! Has anyone ever seen her videos? She seems so passionate about what she does and she’s so beyond friendly! I adore people like that.

jbubbles123, why are you obsessed with GPA? Are you worried about your own GPA?
As far as I can tell, none of us here on TiT believe that admission chances hinge solely on GPA.

I’m not obsessed with GPAs, but I was going through MIT threads and she mentioned it and I felt like sharing.

And you’re right about that second statement.

jbubbles123, I had two questions and one statement in my previous post. There was no second statement.

Blah, sorry, I meant 1st statement.

No need to be sorry. I was just trying to clarify. :)

Are you all done with your essays? I think I already know what I’m going to write about.

Have you guys checked out some of the “essays that worked” on college websites?

Some of them are so fun to read! People are just so fascinating. I can’t wait till college man.

You are ahead of the game.

Good job!

I finally know what I will be writing my essay on. It’s something very personal, and something that changed my life forever. I couldn’t find a more apt topic to write on.

But I hesitate. What confounds me is that fact that many students accepted to ivies and the like, have written their essays on very idiosyncratic topics. I know a girl who wrote on how she loves stuffed toys and went to Harvard. And another girl who wrote on “shower curtains” and how she’s afraid of them and got into HYP. I don’t know. I’ve read my friends’ essays who applied last year, and interestingly, the ones who wrote on idiosyncratic topics, got accepted, while others who wrote on more meaningful and revealing topics faced a flat-out rejection. Maybe it’s just coincidence. What are you guys writing your essays on? Meaningful stuff or interesting quirky stuff?

Michelle danced beautifully today! Barack danced clumsily, but he was very sporting! Do you guys think we’re making a big deal out of the whole Pakistan-not-being-mentioned thing?

Obama’s India trip is not getting much press here in the US. TV talk is all about recently concluded elections. His popularity is at its lowest since becoming president. I am very disappointed with him and I regret supporting him. I see him as a person without a back bone.

Yeah. Obama is supported and loved more widely outside the US than in it. It’s believed that his visit to India is primarily for American audience. His speech at the convocation of CEOs of major companies in India focused on America, and how India-US relations would create more than 50,000 jobs in the US. Media has already been highlighting the opinion that this visit is more of what India can give to the US, than what the US can give to India.

Hu Jintao replaced Obama as the most powerful leader of the world. (Forbes)

capturing indias market will make the poor people of india even poorer…
