So one of the good factors about Pomona is that it’s 2.5 miles from UCSB where 40% of the girls have STDs.
Uhhhh? That’s making me have second thoughts.

LOL at the Pomona fact. Where did you get that from?
I’ll be mentally stable once my exams are over next week. Such pointless things, Christmas exams.

Oh it’s in the “Top Ten Reasons to go to Pomona” list here on CC.
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/pomona-college/175120-top-10-reasons-go-pomona.html</a>
Weird huh?
That’s like a sure shot reason to look at each guy there suspicously.

^ ^■■■■■ alert.
Well, ignoring that random fact, Pomona sounds like a great school. Besides, what difference does UCSB girls with STDs make to you anyway?

Thank you SO much for the reassuring words, Nemo! Seriously.

I am not THAT nervous about Cornell actually. I have a good Engineering school already but Cornell is CORNELL man. Ithaca is gorges. I’ll get to eat free chocolate-covered strawberries and study in those supersupersuper amazing student lounges which are stocked with pizzas and whatnot. :|

Okay I am nervous NOW. Thanks keyboard :@

Wow…at least u guys know where u r applying…I can’t even decide where should I apply. I hav not submitted an app to evn 1 uni. Sarah Lawrence is asking for some thesis kind of thing…but I seriously dunno wat to write. UBC is gr8…but I cant go der except if I somehow manage to get a scholarship. Hamilton…my mid term grades suffered a lot as I hadn’t been in school much, so there is no way I will giv those mid term marks for app to one of the best Liberal arts universities. Usually I am very calm minded…but with Uni decision looming o’er my head, I am freakin out more than I do usually…!! T_T

Aniruddh, it seems like all of us are going through this. Talk about the worst type of purgatory ever.

My friend is waiting in similar nerve wracking anticipation for Penn ED decisions this Friday. She’s such an amazing candidate, I seriously hope she gets in. Fingers crossed thrice over.

Meghna, I haven’t sent my applications either. I’ll probably send them after the business with exams is over. About choosing schools, it takes a while but do keep in mind what you want. You have to be very clear about your preferences. No one can advise you on that. It took a couple of false starts, but that was how I ruled out multiple Ivies and schools that sent me way too many emails. At the end of day, YOU will be the one living your life on a campus far far away from India every day for 4 years. Your opinion is the one that matters the most, if not the only one that matters. Advice is very helpful in most circumstances, but don’t let anyone dictate your choices. Unnecessary fretting doesn’t help (Look who’s talking. The irony of it all). When you’re feeling particularly overwhelmed, remember-Keep Calm and Drink Tea/Eat a Cupcake/Conjure a Patronus/Whatever variant of the poster you like.

^ hey arunemo. * You * seem to be the one fretting the most.

As for aycctutor’s post, you won’t believe what link was posted in the Harvard Hopefuls thread yesterday, unless any of you’ve happened to see that post. ;)

Haha I saw that! The guy is a ■■■■■. Go see his posts on the Columbia 2015 Hopefuls thread.

They are about 90 miles apart.

btw, I thought I was the ultimate sugar freak until I read some recent posts here on TiT. Sorry guys I am slowly catching up.

does dolty dance with Tippu
Sugar high.
Oh, I misread that, sorry. It was 2.5 hrs away not 2.5 miles.

Arunemo- Goes to show a lot of activity.

kaira- what post was it on the harvard forum?

But…but…I still dunno wat to do. I really dun care abt weather…so thats nt my pref…I dun go out much, so my life will b pretty much reserved within my room…except wen I will b doing jobs (If i get one)…

meghna, go to USIEF at 12 Hailey Road, Kasturba Gandhi Marg (near Cannaught Place) in Delhi. This is the official US advising center for students interested in studying in the States. There request for the counsellor, have a talk with her, check out the library (which can be accessed for free-- I think till 1:00 pm) where you can ask the librarian to show you a few books on college selection. The counsellor is quite good especially for beginners. I had referred to USIEF library in the beginning- quite a few books available there are good. It is the largest selection of books on US admissions you can get in Delhi.
You have to be a member for regular counselling sessions; the membership is not very expensive. I think USIEF would be the perfect place for you to get some things straight.
I think this should set you off. I hope this helps.

PS- The guards at the door’ll ask you to leave your cell with them- I assure you it is quite safe to do so. ;)

PPS- If you go to the counsellor going by the name of Rupali, then mention my name(PM me); she’s quite fond of me, so she’ll take good care of you. ;)

Pixie what’s the connection between Pomona and UCSB having STD-laden students?
I mean, think about it. Why aren’t you taking into consideration the brothel just 15 mins away from Pomona too? :P

What is the meaning of ‘STD laden students’? (and sorry to display my ignorance)

Hey guys!
10char

^^^What? A brothel? Aniruddh, is this your idea of a stupid joke? Waaaahhh!

luce- [Lemme google that for ya](<a href=“LMGTFY - Let Me Google That For You”>LMGTFY - Let Me Google That For You)
Second link, Wiki.

Ani, which courier service are you using? I did DHL(coz the office is near my place) for Early, but I’m wondering if FedEx/any other is better. What’s the difference anyway?
DHL also has this discount thing if you send 10 packages.
And in the sender’s information, are you giving the school’s address or your own?
I’m confused which to put coz I’m sending supplement in it too. :/

Are you not sending yours online?
