To be gray or not to be

I use jojoba or other oils once a week over night for same " fill in the cuticle" smoothing shiny benefits and I don’t have to sit under a dryer!

OMG
The origin of the blue-haired ladies is explained. They had colorists and turned that blue shade because in some people it worked.

Don’t know any silver foxes that do that ^^. Shine ~ absolutely!! A must. I use a shine spray product on my hair daily.

Occasional use of a shampoo like Aveda Blue Malva does help to keep it bright.

^ that is a product I’ve wondered about, actually.
“Adds silvery brightness to gray hair, and neutralizes brassiness in chemically-treated hair and all shades… known for its ability to intensify color”
Does it do anything permanent? hoping it doesn’t.
Any silver foxes on cc use it ~ Snowdog, you do?

I’ve had grey hair since I was 16, started coloring at 30, stopped at 40 and now at 50 I use Matrix So Silver care shampoo once or twice a week. It makes my silver grey hair shine. My hairdresser loves my hair- so do I, and the only thing I do is add a little purple streak once or twice a year.

snugapug - I do, or if I am feeling cheap, there’s a Clairol one you can get from Sally beauty supply that does the same thing for less (it’s not as nice as the Aveda shampoo however). I discovered these products years ago when I had a lot of blond highlights, they aren’t permanent but they contain a toner that keeps the look toward platinum rather than yellow. You don’t use the shampoo daily - I only use it about once a month.

John Frieda used to make a lavender hair gloss (like VO5) styling cream that I liked as well, it had the same effect.
