Yes, Co2, I am in a good position to judge…so good in fact that I married a guy from Lehigh.

You guys all need to lighten up, like a feather, if you catch my drift.

I’m halfway kidding, but it’s a bona fide point – the grad school population is probably worse looking, on average, than that school’s undergraduate population.

What’s wrong with the grad students?

Lol this topic is absolutely hilarious.

so we should bring this thread back to life.

Yes.

“1) smart, well he has to know the difference between economic growth and economic development at least, knowledge of game theory would be good
2) clean!!! not some guy who never does laundry or showers
3) funny and talented in one sport/art”

Looks like we’re vying for the same guys. #2 in particular. I’m such a freak about my showers.

Denz: You have a penchant for younger women, don’t you? :D

About Columbia guys: I might have been lucky, but my straight guy friends were all decently good looking. And most of my friends were guys. Unfortunately, the gay ones were hotter. :P

OP: one of my girlfriends is 5’6" and from Cali and complained about the average height of Columbia guys–she didn’t seem to think they were very tall. she dated a guy at CU for a year and a half, and she’s not that picky. So I’m inclined to think she had a point.

I’m 5’1", so I didn’t really have a problem. It was pretty simple, if the guy was as tall as I was, there’s definitely something wrong:P

Guys or guys (or…people you really can’t place from afar) there are good-looking people and well, uggoes. Like everywhere.

I actually tend to think the guys are better looking than the gals in general (then again I don’t really tend to focus on guys when people-watching so I may be a flawed observer). A lot of the girls I me were one of two categories: a) bland (in every sense of the word) or b) average-looking with well-dressed and made up, looking better.

The answer is yes, I’m super attractive.

“a) bland (in every sense of the word) or b) average-looking with well-dressed and made up, looking better.”

You and I obviously haven’t met.

JK JK. :)

but I do know several naturally pretty girls who really didn’t need to put icing on their faces.

I’m not sure if this is true–but do guys look at the ‘big picture’ or do they observe detail when checking out women?

I think girls are more likely to get down to details, and are therefore more likely to find someone pretty that a guy looking at the same person, leaving issues of taste and type aside.
similarly, I think girls are more likely to find people unattractive for the same reason.

Or maybe girls are just harder on each other than they are on guys. Or maybe I’m just a judgemental ***** :D

Guys totally go for the big picture. A guy sees a girl and makes an overall judgment as to how interested he is in having sex with her. A guy isn’t going to look at a girl and say “oh, she has too much eyeliner and mascara” or “that chick has a great Chanel bag that accentuates her outfit.” Girls do that to other girls. And on that basis, I think girls are more critical of other girls than guys are of other girls.

Did your gay friends just dress better and take better care of themselves?

She’s not so tall that she is unable to date most guys. (In contrast, a 5’8"-'5’9" girl is at the point where she can’t go for short guys.) Some girls just like tall guys, and she seems to fall into that category.

I have visited columbia several times and I have seen very attractive asian boys there

“She’s not so tall that she is unable to date most guys. (In contrast, a 5’8”-'5’9" girl is at the point where she can’t go for short guys.) Some girls just like tall guys, and she seems to fall into that category."

Probably true. She liked her surfer dudes.

“Did your gay friends just dress better and take better care of themselves?”

Nope.

I think the general consensus is that the Asian population has more attractive people (on a percentage basis, not absolute). From my own experience, Columbia definitely has more good-looking people than you’d expect. You won’t have problems finding hot people at a party, trust me.
.
On the NYU issue, yes they have hotter girls and guys (but they’re mostly gay).

^^
“but they’re usually gay”

listen to pearfire kids, he has tested all the waters so you don’t have to.

Way to pimp your product.

Karot, will you pimp my product? ;)

I grew up with a single mother who was a feminist hairstylist with all-female clientele. I spent my formative years in a salon reading Cosmopolitan, W, and Vogue magazines. (I may have learned how to read from “101 Ways to Please Him in Bed” articles.)

All that to say: yes.

I had one girlfriend who told me the first thing she noticed about me was my cuticles.

“I had one girlfriend who told me the first thing she noticed about me was my cuticles”

Wow. And I thought I was bad!

“I may have learned how to read from “101 Ways to Please Him in Bed” articles.”

That’s hilarious. “no…wait, you’re doing it wrong…THAT’S NOT WHAT COSMO SAID!”

leave Calvin Sun out of this.
