To everyone who is wait listed...

Matt will have a post up in the next few days specifically for waitlisted students. In the meantime, you can look at his posts for waitlisted students from previous years (e.g. [last year’s](http://www.mitadmissions.org/topics/apply/the_selection_process_application_reading_committee_and_decisions/qa_for_the_waitlisted.shtml)).

Basically, after you return your postcard indicating that you’d like to accept a spot on the waitlist, you should consider sending supplemental material in late April – perhaps an extra recommendation, or just a note updating MIT on anything that’s happened since your application.

You should accept another college on your list by May 1. If MIT needs to use the waitlist, they will select as many students as they need in about the second week of May.
