To Which Schools Did Your School Valedictorian Get Accepted?

this year our val only got into penn state (not upenn)

Both Vals are going to LACs that I hadn’t heard of before and can’t remember now, and both salutatorians are going to Yale (they both chose Yale over Princeton).

val is going to Pitt

He was accepted to WashU, Tulane, and LSU. He chose to go to Tulane.

columbia engineering

We had co-vals this year. One’s going to Washington and Lee with the Johnson, the other to Emory with some money. Sal’s going to NC State after being rejected by MIT.

UChicago, Princeton, couple other places she wasn’t as interested in. Picked Princeton. Salutatorian was going to Vanderbilt, but then got off the waitlist at Princeton, and they’re both at Princeton now.

EDIT: Wait, no, you mean 2010 grads. My b. I went to their graduation though, and I think the valedictorian is going to Vanderbilt, but he’s still on the waitlist for Columbia, or at least he was last time I talked to him.

My school’s class of 2010 had 11 valedictorians… they are going to Life Pacific Univ., Vanderbilt, UNC, Univ. of Portland, Northwest Nazarene Univ., University of Oregon, Azusa Pacific University, Wheaton, and three to Seattle Pacific University.

My school’s val got into Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc, etc.
He/she is going to Yale.

val- UCLA
sal- Claremont Mckenna

Our school’s Valedictorian got into Boston University, New York University, and UMass Amherst

2009:

Sal-Middlebury

2008:

2007:

The Val in the grade ahead of me got accepted to HYPS Brown and Dartmouth, going to Yale.

Top 5 at my kids’ alma mater, a NJ public-

1-U of Delaware- honors (lots of $)
2-Brown
3-Penn
4-Georgetown
5-Stevens Inst of Tech

just a question:
how does someone become a valedictorian in the States?

(living in Canada; my school holds a student election for valedictorians).

^ A U.S. valedictorian has the highest cumulative GPA out of his/her class. There can be more than one val.

Valedictorian of 2010 at my school is going to UC Berkeley.

In out district, valedictorians are students with a 4.0 or over. The Scholar of Scholars has the highest cumulative GPA and there can only be one. The Scholar of Scholars is going to UC Berkeley from the Class of 2010.

Harvard, Yale, and Princeton, the only other thing I know is that she was wait-listed at Stanford. She’s going to Yale.

Dont know about all the acceptances–
know the top 2 are going to Princeton
