We also have the Cuisanart from Costco linked a few posts above this. Have been very happy with it. It’s not tiny, but not huge.

Question for toaster oven owners. Anyone have a good solution for cleaning the glass oven door of the toaster oven??? I can NEVER get this clean and looking like new. Must not be using the right cleaner on it…

Ours was a Black and Decker too that died. My feeling is that B&D used to make good stuff and then moved production to China and made cheaper products for WalMart and became part of the race to the bottom. I’d rather spend more and get something that lasts than buy cheap and replace every few years.

abasket, I just use Windex on mine but if you have a lot of buildup on it you might have success using a razor blade to lightly scrap it off. I was having a devil of a time getting my stove top clean and then read the razor suggestion and it worked like a charm. Obviously, you wan to use a ligh touch as not to scratch the glass.

Its not like there is build up you can touch, but the glass has a “foggy” and almost burnt look in spots. Maybe my own issue is that I like things to look good as new. :)

I’m a functional person - I don’t care how it looks; as long as it works.

I know what you mean by foggy - I think that it’s caused by steam residue from food getting backed onto the glass.

I guess we are the odd family out here. When our toaster oven gave up the ghost about ten year ago, we bought a Krups toaster…because we realized the ONLY thing we made in the toaster oven was…toast.

Thumper, my gf just bought a regular toaster for the same reason - plus she didn’t like that toaster ovens always look dirty.

I use mine for baking potatoes and reheating pizza. Less electricity used than heating the big oven for two potatoes or a few slices of pizzas and I hate the way cooking/reheating those come out using microwave.

My B&D is going on four years and is working just fine. It toasts exactly how I like mine and cooks the few things I put in it quickly. Others mileage obviously varies.
