second spring, we are also staying at the Sunroute. My husband got it through Priceline and I am worried because there are three of us. I wanted to book a room differently and he did it before I could stop him. Someone (not me) might be enjoying 6 nights on the floor! I am definitely ready for this adventure, just not the plane trip over and back. Old 747 without the inseat entertainment systems.

Too funny! Maybe you’ll get our room. DS actually recommended we stay there, Sunroute is a well respected chain. We found it very quiet, had mini fridge and hotpot. There are computers and a printer available on the second floor.
Great location, just blocks away from the South exit of the Shinjuku Station. DS says the rooms are larger than other Japanese hotels he has stayed in. We booked thru hotels.com-same thing. Our first room was a handicapped queen bed room. We went off to Kyoto for a couple of days and when we returned were given a Japanese style room with tatami mats and mattress on the floor. Both were small but comfortable, could have room for someone on the floor. I hope it doesn’t come to that. Do you know what kind of room you have?
The trip is a bear, no getting around that. If you decide to take the bus, you can get tickets at the airport. I think one of them stops in front of Sunroute about every hour. We were just too dazed by the time we got thru a very long line at Narita immigrations to think about the train. Please let me know about your trip. You can PM me if you like.
