all of my decorations are already off the tree! i have one tree that will be put away this week and the one near the front hallway/window now has red baubles and red lights and will stay up through valentine’s day. i have to have something to brighten up the dreary winter months.

We keep ours up utnil Jan 6, and the kids get a present each of the 12 days of Christmas. We actually know of someone who had a closet built for her tree in her family room and stores it decorated; just roll it i and out,

I would love to have closets to roll my trees in and out of. H’s side is Orthodox so the trees stay up till at Orthodox new years, around Jan. 14th this time. We often leave our trees up until February. I don’t have any decorations I like for winter/spring as well as the trees - and we love the tree lights at night. Winter is sooo long and depressing.

OMG - I’m just sick of putting the tree up each year. I like that idea of the small decorative trees. I might go that route next year. My tree is coming down on Friday afternoon. I want the living room clear for the weekend.

^i hear ya kleibo. Wish i could press a button each year and have it magically appear…and DISAPPEAR. I love my artificial tree and it looks great, but it seems like I just get it up in the attic and it needs to come down again. Talk about tedious with inserting dozens of color-coded branches, then removing them and returning to their respective bags clearly marked with row numbers and colors.
And that’s just the tree itself…forget the ornaments! It’s coming down Friday.

I have a really cute small tree, about three feet tall, for the “off” years when we have an extra-busy fall or one when I’m sick a lot (like this year). I got it at Cost Plus on sale, and it’s secured in a red and green pot. I put my small ornaments and red checked ribbons on it and a string of gold beads with red lights. It looks very nice and that way we still have a tree and it’s not hard to take down.

My former mother-in-law used to take the tree down on Christmas night. I am not kidding. She was tired of it, Christmas was over, and down it came.
