Top International Business programs

okay okay the aspirant, you win…lol. now you’ve heard of it :D

haha sorry if i sounded offensive.
i also just found out one of my younger friends is going to u. of south carolina, and ironically, she’s going for international business… haha.

her first choice was michigan, but she’s happy with it.

You may not have heard of it, but the ranking was done by peer assesment. This means the big shots who are going to be hiring you and admitting you to grad school have not only heard of it, but think it’s good.

temple has a really good international business program

Wharton at UPenn is the best undergrad b-school though, for 125 years already–the oldest in the world. So just go there if you can.

thats a pretty closed minded statement ivy hopeful! wharton’s not on top of the world, you know. its very common that ppl think it is but when they actually aquire a bit more knowledge and experience in the matter they realize that gone are those days when wharton was leagues ahead of all other b-schools. nowdays schools like sloan, ross, hass and stern are interchangeable with wharton and students routinely pick these schools over wharton and vice versa due to personal preference and fit. so, to the OP, pick the school based on fit if you are deciding between these 5 schools =)

i would still go to wharton over any other business school. wharton is simply the best.

That’s pretty ignorant. “Business” is not a real major by itself and your specialization will determine where you want to go to school. Supply Chain Management:MIT. Management Information Systems: MIT.

Wharton, however, is unique in that it’s one of the top few schools in every discipline. A student taking multiple concentrations at Wharton is going to be a stronger business student than anything else possible.

as should I, don’t know what got into me, I want to get into that program there also lol, anyway good luck to her!.

i think if you’re intent on doing IB, then USC(South Carolina) and NYU are very nice choices. Yes, SC is not very lucrative in terms of well, everything except International Business, but the school’s IBusiness program has been #1 or #2 for several years, showing that it’s not a fluke.

CNI be careful on this forum IB is always taken to mean Investment Banking, even on an International Business thread.

if memory serves, business week ranked florida state as #1 international business program

stern has fantastic study abroad options…while ross’s sucks, unfortunately.

^agreed (for very limited study abroad opportunities at Ross), although I did see photos of Ross students in China this summer who seemed to be having a good time.

yeah, but the china and germany thing were only 3 weeks long and very overpriced!

yeah… way too overpriced. i think it was like 2-3k.

I think more like 4-5k!

USC (gamecocks, not trojans) grad placement (MBA) overseas really isn’t that great. A program like UCSD IR/PS would place much better in my opinion.

yield rates for penn/wharton would seem to indicate otherwise

I’ve never heard of anyone choosing anything but Sloan over Wharton because the person was a major quant. I suppose that some people would choose Haas/Ross because of in-state tuition.
