Toronto - Inexpensive sites/food - tips please!

Get special transit passes for subway and streetcars. My kids made me crazy riding uber even though subway is convenient, cheaper. Street cars nice way to see city. Distillery District is at the be of one street car route. Shops, restaurants, pubs. Queen st. Is full of different shops. Daughter liked it. We liked getting out of downtown to eat. Italian, Chinatown, other districts. Nice walking/running paths along water west of downtown. Don’t understand the fascination with Tim Hortons coffee! Go to a bank for money exhange.

^^I wondered about Chinatown and the Italian area. Will mention the running path as S likes to run and his wife will rise to the occasion for short runs.

Because we are in Canada all the time for our cottage we have a nice stash of Canadian $$$ and I plan to gift them some for their trip. The exchange rate is good right now - even if you use credit cards you’ll get the payback.
