My D would also like that Kate Spade crossbody purse. I think it’s a great neutral and a perfect size. She’ll like it even if it’s not something she would pick out.
My D is super picky when I try to buy her something… She has trouble giving up control, we are working on it. But if her boyfriend’s mom gives her anything, she loves it. I think the fact that the bf’s mom took the time to think of her makes her feel good
@abasket , I had to laugh at your comment about Coach purses (in a good way). I’ve never owned a designer bag (I think we had this discussion on another thread). Just had a hard time coughing up that money. I get more compliments on a $50 purse I bought once. I’ve been carrying a $5 goodwill purse boho bag I bought and about 25% of the time I get compliments. I always get a kick out of that one. I like a little bling on my purses and most designer purses I would spend money on if I did (in the $300 range), tyoically don’t have it.
So, I was in a consignment store yesterday and they keep the designer bags behind the register. I saw this teal coach satchel with gold studs for $95 and knew I had to have it (I like purses with color, I own no black). It is in immaculate condition! So, I’m pretty excited.
Here it is:. The studs are shiny gold, not brass like in this pic. Plus the teal is a little brighter.
Thanks for the compliments about the black purse. I’m going to insist she exchange and tell son to also tell her I’d much rather he get something she really wants, and it would make me feel bad if she doesn’t use it because she’d rather have something else.
Here is a better representation of the colors. I would rather have had this shape but it is what it is.
D1 and DIL would love that KS purse, ages 25 and 32. Both have occasions where they want a nice purse that’s not a clutch. They would say it looks “adult and professional”, not old lady. And I have given each several purses that are KS, Coach, or Fossil because they can’t afford to buy them for themselves and it’s a nice Christmas or birthday gift.
Both my girls love their Longchamps bags. Both have bags that they “stole” from me. My girls are the furthest you can be from sorority girls or fashionistas. D2 basically would live in riding attire if she could. D1 carries hers as her everyday purse. D2 likes hers for traveling.
I think they would also both like the Kate Spade purse ? in black.
I have that KS crossbody bag in black. I’ve gotten a lot of use out of it and so has my 32 year old daughter. So I guess its a good choice for the old moms and their hipper, younger daughters.
Well, it’s the end of the day and I went purse shopping. Our high end mall has both a Kate Spade and Michael Kors store.
I actually fell in love with this one and purchased it. Online you can get the silver accents, but they only had gold in the store. Which I thought made it look more expensive but if she likes it, that’s up to her. I bought it in black.
