Tracking apps for college kids and older

My D just used our family group to see if we were still at the ball game ;). She didn’t want to text me if we were at home because I’d be in bed.

Oh no, it’s fine, I’m the one who said I’d have no reason to track a kid away at college, but in this once instance I did, and it was hekpful. And I hated it, it would’ve been less stressful just to pretend that everything was fine, it was such a relief dropping him off at college and getting a break.

I think this is important BUT safety is not why everyone shares locations. My husband and I share locations and I like to look sometimes to see when he will be getting back from his evening walk/run because then I can gauge how long I have before we have supper together.

And sometimes it can be about safety — my 85 yr old MIL wears an Apple Watch and she shares her location, which can be really helpful. If she were to fall or get lost we could find her.

I share my location with my husband and kids and I don’t feel weird about it. I doubt if my kids ever look at it unless they are waiting for me for some reason. I think my husband uses it like I do gauging when I will be back home.

My oldest turns location sharing off for everyday use but will share locations when traveling. Also is pretty good about texting.

I’m not sure if my younger daughter turned location sharing off or if it’s just being weird. Up to her if she wants to share or not.

I can’t think for the sounds all the helicopters on this page are making!!!

Let your offspring grow into the adults they are. They will call if help is required.
