Trader Joe's Top 10

^^ I have ONE jar left of the Mojito Sauce. I’m SO sorry it has been discontinued.

The PERFECT Christmas gift for just about anyone - small box of TJ’s chocolate Truffles. $2.99 a box. I’m going to label each one, “Grow fat with me this winter” and give them to my co-workers. ;)

Thanks for bumping this up as a reminder for me to stop at TJ’s tonight to stock up on goodies for D’s finals care package. I should just print this entire thread as my shopping list :D

I just got this link from TJ’s with their top seller list: http://www.traderjoes.com/Attachments/FavoredFavoriteProductList.pdf</a> If found it a little disappointing because it’s so broad, such as “nuts” no mention of the wasabi nuts and berries or lightly salted almonds or the fattening yummy blister peanuts. Thought y’all would be interested anyway!

Haven’t read the thread. TJ has a great price on extra virgin olive oil, about half that of Safeway or Wegmans and equal in quality.

Those whimsical mailers are fun and I truely like TJ’s products but find I can shop more extensively at the other two.

Has anyone yet mentioned the dark-chocolate covered Peppermint Joe-Joes cookies? With crushed peppermint candy sprinkled on top? I bought one box, allowed each member of the Tove clan to have one, and took the rest in to work. They are just too scarily good.

D2 has fallen in love with the honey chevre. D1, not a fan of plain chevre, concedes that the honey version isn’t terrible, which is pretty much a ringing endorsement.

“Has anyone yet mentioned the dark-chocolate covered Peppermint Joe-Joes cookies?”

I’ve held the box many times. I just have a hard time paying $3.99 for such a small box of cookies. My wife has a harder time - I think that she’d put them back if I put them in the cart.

The salted caramels in the wooden box are good. From the picture we were thought they were coated in chocolate but they are not. Still delicious.
I also like that the puff pastry is already flat.

BC, live a little! You will not regret the Joe Joes.

Yeah, I know. But my luxuries are in computer equipment.

My husband calls the Peppermint Joe-Joes’ (not the choc. covered ones) toothpaste cookies. He doesn’t like them at all.

Does anyone know if TJ’s has stollen this year? I didn’t see any a couple of weeks ago, but I know they’ve had it other years. I need some!

kathiep, I received the TJ email also and have to wonder whether they’ve been snooping here. After all, we’ve been assembling our favorite hits list for some time already :)

They shouldn’t have our email addresses unless we post them publicly (not even sure you can do that).

Bumping cause this is a great thread AND I get to make a trip there tomorrow so I need to make a list!!! The closest one is about an hour away so it’s not often I get up there…but will be there with a smile tomorrow!

i just tried a new thing they have in the frozen section, Polenta with spinach. Vey good.

For when you are in a rush, their rice with mixed onions and veggies is very good and takes all of two minutes to cook.

I recently tried their $6.99/lb large uncooked shrimp. They were larger than I expected them to be and very good. Boiled up in 2 minutes for an easy shrimp cocktail. I’ll never pay my fish monger $19.99 again.

Can’t remember if this has been mentioned, but a friend told me about individual bowls of pre-cooked organic brown rice. The bowls do not need refrigeration (found on the shelf near other rice), cook in 90 seconds in the microwave. Great combined with leftovers (stew, beans, curry, stirfry, veggies) to take to work for lunch. I just included a few, along with soy sauce packets and a TJ’s dal in a care pack I sent to my D.

Great timing, abasket. I too plan to make a trip there tomorrow to reward myself for sitting through the car inspection line. (The two are within close vicinity of one another.)
