Transfer Fall 2019

@Kennedy1962 Ya I got like 20k in grants (from a low-income house hold) and I don’t have the other 50k so I am just going to reject them. I don’t want to have debt in the future

@maira91 @Kennedy1962 Hi guys, I’m just wondering how you’re calculating that price. AU’s website says that tuition is about 25k a year full time, and including room and board + meal plans I can’t see that totaling much higher than 50k. I’m just wondering because I got about 23k in aid and it seems a little too good to be true compared to the rate of tuition. Everything on the AU website says tuition is 25k but all other websites i’ve checked say its much higher. Is the 25k per semester? It does say tuition table for 2019-2020 academic year though. I’d be living off campus so I’m just trying to estimate the price per year without room and board, meal plans, etc.

Never mind! It is per semester… yikes

Hey @maudlina! No worries! That 50,000 dollar a year tuition and 20,000 housing and fees- scArY SeASoN. And on top of that they make the transfers (especially from public schools) retake credits…for no particular reason- except they want your money! I was born at night, but not last night. Its just a shnooker! Best of luck to you!

@maira91 Hey! I know this is slightly off the subject for the thread but, are you still waiting on GW?

Hey Guys!! a little late to this but I applied a months ago to AU and still no reply. I go to a public school in Massachusetts 3.6 GPA freshman honors college. Is there any hope? Also was just wondering if anyone else would make any suggestions for schools they applied too and got in with similar grades. Thanks !!

Hello! I am planning on applying as a transfer to american university this year and I was curious as to what year you were in when you applied as a transfer?

@Kennedy1962 @maira91 Hey guys! So I applied for Fall 2020 as a transfer student to American University, and I’m just waiting to hear back for admission. With that said, did y’all turn down American University? Was financial aid THAT BAD? If so, where did you guys end up going? Thank you
