r-e,
You sound like a true friend. Rather than dream (I believe) an impossible dream, your friend should enjoy Creighton and have the best college experience possible.

Tell your friend that he will be applying for a transfer after only completing one sem/qt at Creighton, so his HS record and test scores will be more important than what he has done in college. He is correct, his HS gpa and ACT scores were not particularly competitive for even freshman admissions, and add to that the fact that the acceptance rate for transfer admissions is even lower (3-5%):

18 out of about 800 applicants were accepted this year (2%); 24 were accepted last year.
